This Months Project: June 2022 - Website
Back in the days of stupid phones, excitement over new Lord of the Rings movies and when my computer games were point and click, I created a website. It required some HTML, CSS, a lot of different types of brackets, as well as what felt at times like hostage negotiations with blogger.
You see, back then, all I had was notepad, a scientific calculator and a 33cl can of coke. It took days and days to get right.
After it was ready, it was a part of my life for years.
Earlier this week I decided that my project for this month would be to create a new one. I cracked my knuckles and searched the house for my 1996 copy of “How to look good online”. Couldn’t find it. Realized that most people probably look good online with filters and facetune these days anyways.
You silly kids with your… dalgona coffee and your… Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and whatnot get of my property!
Wasn’t about to give up on my project that easily. Took to the internet - the home of websites. Then I went ahead and created one. It took minutes and minutes on Squarespace, mostly because I was nitpicky with the colors.
The project then came to a screeching halt when I had to wait for about 4 hours for a customized logo to be created for me by a very nice and fast working person on Fiverr.
What might have taken up the biggest portion of my time was to poke around with Google Workspace, but I’m not sure that counts towards the building of the site.
The page is now public. I will probably be doing some tweaking and tuning for as long as it is up and live, but that’s what’s being alive is all about. Changes, improvements and growth!
I already have July’s project lined up, can’t wait to report on it! More on that next month.
